Accessibility Policy

The Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) is committed to providing an inclusive digital environment that enables everyone, including individuals with special needs and the elderly, to access our digital platforms and services. This policy aims to ensure accessibility for all users by adopting advanced technologies and supporting the use of assistive tools in accordance with local regulations and international accessibility standards.

Policy Objectives

  1. Ensure that the digital platforms and services of SDAIA are accessible to all users, regardless of their abilities.
  2. Utilize innovative technologies that provide easy access to information and services for individuals with special needs and the elderly.
  3. Comply with local regulations and best global practices, such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, incorporating additional tools and technologies to support accessibility.

Scope

This policy applies to:

  • All websites, applications, and digital services of SDAIA.
  • SDAIA employees, contractors, and service providers involved in the design, development, and maintenance of the authority’s digital services.
  • Any new or modified digital services provided by SDAIA.

Core Principles

The accessibility policy is based on the following principles:

  1. Perceivable: Ensure that all content and user interface elements are presented in ways that all users can perceive.
  2. Operable: Design interfaces to be user-friendly and compatible with assistive technologies.
  3. Understandable: Ensure that content and interfaces are easy to understand and interact with, regardless of users' cognitive abilities.
  4. Robust: Ensure that content is robust and accessible through various assistive technologies, allowing it to remain available even as technology evolves.

Accessibility Standards

SDAIA adheres to the following standards to enhance accessibility:

  1. Compliance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA: All digital services of the authority comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA to ensure accessibility for all individuals, including the elderly and those with special needs.
  2. Compatibility with Assistive Tools: SDAIA's digital platforms support a wide range of assistive technologies, including screen readers and magnification tools, ensuring that users with special needs and the elderly can interact with the platforms.
  3. Regular Audits: Regular audits will be conducted to assess accessibility performance, ensuring ongoing compliance and continuous improvements.
